Legaci Eats

Delivers delicious free meals prepared by local chefs. Delivery to Crozet is typically on Wednesdays, and Albemarle county on Fridays. Send a request by email or via Messenger including your name, address, phone number, number of people in the household & any dietary restrictions or needs. If you include children's ages, they may also include donation of craft supplies

Emergency Food Network

Since 1973, the mission of the Emergency Food Network has been to provide food for three days of balanced meals, on the same day requested, to individuals and families in Charlottesville and Albemarle County. We operate on an honor system, providing food to people who call our office, without financial requirements or forms to fill out.

Free Smoke Alarms and Batteries

The County will work with any resident within our jurisdiction to make sure they have the correct amount and properly working smoke alarms in their homes.

Please encourage them to call for a free check and install, no cost to them whatsoever.

Hope House Family Navigation Program (MACAA)

Hope House Family Navigation program is an intensive, whole-family program that aims to support and empower families to reach their full potential. Hope House, in partnership with families, community service providers, and other local resources provides coaching, education and skill building, and supports the development of social connections that promote resilience and breaks the cycle of poverty.

The Thomas Jefferson Planning District Commission serves our local governments by providing regional vision, collaborative leadership and professional service to develop effective solutions.

Habitat for Humanity

We partner with hardworking, local, low-income families to help them build and purchase homes. We are committed to building at least 20 homes annually.
